So.....I've been working on something lately that I'm really excited about.... I've got a NEW BLOG that is new and improved, bigger and better....
If for some reason....your link takes you somewhere you don't think it should....that's the small growing pains of moving over to another site....but that should be all good to go in no time. There will be a link to this older blog so you can always come back to visit and see the old posts.
Come on over to www.travisdewphotography.com .....and leave a comment letting me know what you think!

Happy Birthday to 2 of the Coolest People I Know.....
Eleven years ago today.....I gave my husband a pretty unique birthday present. Around 3:04 p.m. that day, we had a really cool daughter. So happy birthday you two...thanks for all the joy you bring to our household. (side note: just took the previous bridal portrait down...until after the wedding! Will repost after 10/15!)

WOW - Beautiful Bride.....
I love what I do. Seriously. I hope that for each session it proves to be stress-free and not too terribly painful. I know how it can be - believe me. I shot my 8-year old for a portrait last week and by the end of it, I knew why people call me.
The term "portrait" has always made me cringe a little. I think it makes me see a carpet-covered block with some elbows and a diagonally scribbled signature in the bottom right-hand corner....if you know what I mean. This morning's bridal portrait was anything but cheesy. Okay, maybe mom's smile (like how you make the mouth movements when you're feeding a baby....)
The weather was beautiful, the cloud-cover was perfect.....and the bride was BREATHTAKING. From her hair, to her dress to her big brown eyes. I told her I would get something up in a couple of days.....but I couldn't wait to see them. See for yourself.

3-Week Check In with Baby "R"
Remember the sweet Mama about 5-6 weeks ago who you couldn't tell was pregnant unless you were looking straight at her stomach? Well...you should see her now. She looks FANTASTIC....and so does baby "R". He was in a great mood this morning.....and gave us a little clean-up work to do after trying to shoot some newborn nudies.
It cracks me up that we, as parents, have all done it expecting different results. We hold that sweet, innocent little soft body....bare and cuddly. And nature hits. I'll never forget how my husband thought his new little baby boy was just delicious and how great it was to have him propped up on his knees....naked and happy. Well...that shirt got thrown away. He destroyed him....and we got one heck of a sleep-deprived laugh out of it.
Loved meeting you this morning, "R"......next time I see you, I suspect there will be three other ones around trying to kiss and hold you.

Look Who is Two and a Half!
So "L".....you realize we're tight buddies now, right? I mean, I've been checking in with you every 3 months or so since you were t-niny. And to think.....you are now in pre-school!! I love getting to hang out with your parents....your aunt....and you! The last time we came to this special spot of yours out at Sullivan's Island....the big "Thriller" boat sped by......and just look what went by on Saturday. You are one lucky, little boy.

Sweet "L"...a Guinea Pig...a Bird and the Beach...
Another warm afternoon and I head out to Sullivan's Island late.....to catch some time with Miss "L". Playful and happy-go-lucky is how I would describe this 11-year old. She answered the door with one of her stuffed animals on a leash....and we quickly moved on to her real pets. I never did get to meet your kitty - I think she was busy keeping her favorite chair warm.
"Snickers" and "Rosie" joined us on the porch for some afternoon swinging. I'm impressed with Mama's patience to have more than one pet....that requires a cage. [I, on the other hand, couldn't have been more pleased to hear the words "Scooby got out of his cage!"....that little hamster had bigger plans than running around in a wheel. I'm not one to hold someone back from adventure....Later on....Scooby Dew.]
So after "L" introduced me to her pets....we set out for one of her favorites spots.....

Fox Family Fun.....
Sweet Missee is special to our family.......from teaching my children how to swim......to giving them (and me!) spot-on advice on the school playground. Her husband's family got together and they invited me over for a little bit. Every time I get the privilege of being with this family....nothing but happiness. NO stress, no fuss....they just enjoy each other. As always, it was great to see you.....and, I loved getting to meet ALL of those cousins!
