Special K

Today started by returning a phone call from a potential client....she had inquired about newborn pictures and I called to discuss the details.  When she answered the phone she sounded sleepy so I apologized for waking her....I was mistaken - she wasn't asleep, she was in labor.  So fast-forward to about 5:30 p.m. and I got the pleasure of documenting the greatest miracle ever.  What a thrill to experience little K's first few minutes of life....Congratulations Lauren and Joe.

Worth Your While

I stopped in to one of my favorite shops on King Street today....my friend Robben was nice enough to let me pull out my camera and have some fun.  She has one of the hippest stores in town with great sunglasses from a flea market in Paris, reusable Baggu shopping bags, unique jewelry and clothes (mostly adult but there are some really cute baby things.)   Worthwhile is the perfect little spot to get the unexpected gift or outfit.  Oh, and that coffee cup....it's porcelain with a silicone top...cool. 

Little Rascals...put on a Great Show

Saturday night I headed out to the North Charleston Coliseum with a few friends to see the Rascal Flatts....Jessica Simpson was opening up for them....and let's just say that's a good time to get a beer or a souvenir....but the Rascal Flatts put on one heck of a show!  Here are some shots from a great night.  

Exciting News!!!!

Got word today that a BIG magazine may be publishing some photos of mine.....I'll wait until I see it on the stands to celebrate but will definitely keep you posted.  And while sitting at my computer on that phone call - I receive an email that some photos of mine may be used in a BIG music video....so a GREAT day overall and it kind of makes me want to shout out a big WAHOOOOOOOO!  

Update on Little S

Went to MUSC Children's Hospital today to check on Little S....he's a week out of his surgery and he's doing well.  Believe it or not, he's still a little groggy from being under.  I found him being pulled in a wagon through the halls by his grandmother.  She says he can't stand his room - I know he and his family are ready to get back home.  Keep on keepin' on little guy....you'll be up to no good in no time.

A great little vacation...

So we have returned from Pensacola with no more speeding tickets, a little less "are we there yet"s and a great time had by all.  It was so nice to get away from the day-to-day and play board games and puzzles, search for sand dollars, have races on the beach and just relax.  The weather was chilly but not enough to keep the children out of the hot tub or from even taking a dip in the ocean in their pajamas......more shots of what a great little vacation we had.

We also went to an unbelievable concert with Darius Rucker, Dierks Bentley and Brad Paisley...if you ever get the chance - you've got to experience the magic of the live show....it's pretty incredible.

Pensacola

After a pretty lengthy Christmas vacation and a brief time back at school, the children have today, tomorrow and Monday off of school.  Considering the weather is supposed to be in the 20's and 30's in Charleston, a friend of mine decided to get adventurous and invited us along.  

Soooo 3 adults, 5 children, 4 movies, 1 speeding ticket, 3,974 "are we there yet?"s and 9 hours later...we arrived in Pensacola only to quickly go into deep comas.  But as the sun came out and we were able to see our surroundings....this has turned out to be a great time so far.  As we told the children, if you use your imagination you could just be playing in the snooowww.....

Little S's big sister.....

This is Little S's big sister.....they are quite a pair, aren't they?  Those eyes....and I just wish you could experience this little miss priss....she is too much.  As my 6-year old says, "I just want to take those cheeks off and eat 'em!"

Surprise - Merry Christmas Daddy!

I've decided that despite what parents are going through with the 8-12ish year olds, I really enjoy shooting them.  I try to get all my clients (if they're old enough) away from their parents because they are just different.....can't explain it specifically....but just different.  Well this age feels somewhat liberated.

So I get these two girls and mom's working on a surprise Christmas present for Daddy.  "Grab a favorite scarf, hat, teddy bear, whatever and let's go....Mom, see you in a minute."  We had a blast.

Fun Saturday Afternoon....

I had a great time with Biz and Dave today.....a happy couple engaged to be married in September.  They're one of those couples that when you meet them, you just know they're right for each other.  There was no need for direction for these two - it was just easy to capture their happiness.  

Prayers for Little S

This little guy is as low key and sweet as they come.  He was born with this FULL head of hair.  No kidding, he had a haircut at 6 WEEKS old!  Little S has had some medical issues lately and is headed in for some surgery on Wednesday.  I'm sure he and his family would appreciate an extra prayer or two.

Hello!

Finally I have gotten into the blogging world.  It's not that I have much to say....it's just that at times there is so much going on that this is a good place to stay on top of things.   Also, while I'm working, I often come across some really neat people or things that are worthy of sharing.  

For now, sometimes you just have to be cool enough to wear two watches.
