Columbia Zoo

I had a BLAST today!!  I helped chaperone my 6-year old's field trip to the Columbia Zoo.  The weather was perfect - not too hot or cool.  The children were GREAT - all in a great mood full of excitement to see the animals.  I think I might have had more fun trying to capture some of these incredible creatures!

AND three birds landed ON MY HEAD in about 5 minutes.  No one else had the pleasure and there were at least 10 of us in that cage.....you think my thick hair looked like a sweet place to perch for a little bit?  My little guy thought it was HYSTERICAL!

Beautiful Bride-To-Be.....Beautiful Day

Friday morning I woke up to whipping wind and swirling pollen.  I had a bridal portrait shoot later in the day and those two ingredients don't help the situation.  But....luckily for us the day turned out to be perfectly beautiful!  Jenna, Terra and I had a GREAT time running around town playing bride-for-a-day.  Just a few more weeks....thanks for a fun afternoon.  Your gallery will be up soon....just wanted to give you a sneak peak.

Crazy Daisies....

I got over to capture some time with this sweet family today because their grandfather was in from Tokyo.  I was with this family about this time last year and they have had an addition since then!  Sweet Heather has got her hands full with three children under the age of 4....and she is as calm as a cucumber and the house is spotless.  As a mother of three...all I have to say is "pass the wine."  Whenever either of the two girls was acting silly, mom would just ask them if they were being "crazy daisies"....which I had never heard before and am now going to adopt as a new term around my household.  Here's a sneak preview of P, S and W.

Aaahhhhh to be 10 Again!!

So it's Friday afternoon and it's Miss P's birthday and she's decided for her party that she wanted to have some of her little girlfriends over to Blush to try on clothes, have some pictures taken and get their nails painted.  You might just be able to hear the laughter (and the talkin'!) in these photos......the girls had a BLAST!  Is there any more fun for a girl than shopping with her buddies and getting her nails done?  I don't
so.

I'm Buzzzzy

Apparently...I have this blog stalker who wants to know why I haven't had any posts lately.....and it's a combination of a few things that have been keeping me busy....buzzzy as a BEE Sista so back it up and relax yo'self because the brides are right around the corner.  I am looking forward to the end of March and all of April because I am going to be super busy with white dresses, flowers and happiness!

As for now and what's keeping me busy.....it's organizing, tax preparing, husband assisting, meal-makin' and MUSC Children's Hospital photo shoots.  I try to take the slower times to get ready for the faster times.  And Spring really brings it on....

Keep up your stalkin' and I'll make sure I put down the bon bons.

Second Grade......if I may boast....

When I started this blog, I saw it as an opportunity to expose some of my opportunities and work as a photographer - things that I otherwise may not be able to display through my website.  I haven't really had a plan, but I update here and there and sometimes it has turned more about home life than work.....but I've enjoyed sharing my excitement for my children.

Our household has been buzzin' like bees for the last couple of weeks with talks from my daughter about her upcoming play.......there couldn't have been more excitement Friday morning while she was making sure she had everything needed for her costume.  We were busy digging through dress-up drawers and braiding hairs like it was Broadway......and to her it was.

With a total of 6 "mini" plays, the entire 2nd grade had more confidence and stage presence along with several knee-slappin' moments!  Surprisingly, it wasn't another one of those school functions that makes you want to get your wrist with a dull butter knife.  They did a GREAT job.  Sadly, I remember my 3rd grade play just like it was yesterday - Let George Do It.  To think that this sweet child will be grown before she knows it makes my heart sad.  I'm going to make a special effort to sit down and enjoy her as she is....today.

Brother ??

I went out to the Wind Jammer Saturday night with some friends to see Edwin McCain.....I took some shots of the night and as I was editing them my son asked who it was on the computer screen.  I told him Edwin McCain and he asked........."Is that John McCain's brother?" Mmmm - uh - no, I don't think so.  Hahahahaha.
