Happy New Year!

Here is the Christmas card that some of you got....and some of you will never get because time slipped right out from under me....  Let's point out a few details which convinced my daughter and me to choose this particular one....starting left to right - the poor, poor, scared dog.....the mischievous eye in "H", the bunny ears behind me, the dog poop on "B"'s shoe, her crazy expression, "R"'s neon gum (which doesn't show as much on here or the card), his neon laces, and the oh-so-unnatural pose from my husband.  As a photographer....I much prefer crazy to posed.  Clearly.

I learned a lot this year....First, when I should start Christmas shopping (September)....I actually did do this and the season went a lot smoother and was way more enjoyable.  Second, when I should do my Christmas cards - if I'm going to do them (September).  When to convince clients to schedule their shoots.....PRIOR TO DECEMBER.  It's not that I can't get the work done and am worried about a timeline....It's that I probably rescheduled 6-7 shoots due to weather!

I'm moving on from holiday clutter to cleaning out....preparing for taxes......getting organized.....and getting motivated.  A huge thank you to all my clients for 2010....I had a great year and enjoyed every. single. minute.  Even the multiple times I was shooting up at the Children's Hospital....which I must admit....I enjoy the most.  Humility at its very best.

My girth has expanded and I'm not sure that the weekly visits to Santi's is going to help that out anytime soon....but my neighborhood amenity calls my name PEOPLE!  No, I'm serious, I can hear it in the wind.  Around 5:30 in the afternoon it starts.....when I'm outside with the children and neighbors.....and really don't feel like getting in the kitchen.

Looking forward to my 2-week visit with baby "C" and a 4-week visit with "B".  Also going to be working on a birthday surprise here soon.

Hello to an old friend that I heard from today....that I haven't seen in 25 years.  *UGH* that I can actually say that.  Sort of like my 8-year old saying, "Gosh, I haven't heard this song in, like, 5 years."  oh really?  Speaking of....that total hambone included these small items on his Christmas list for Santa this year....a dog, a bunny, a hamster, a snake, a cow and a pig.  Awww, poor little guy didn't get any of them.  And, he made our "elf" a broom and left him a note asking him to clean the 'hole' house.....because we were all sick around here.  Not true....but gotta give him credit for getting a little creative.

Cheers to a new year....may we have many more smiles, lots more prayers, the same good health and continued hard work.  Be happy.
